Chiropractor
Dr. Kevin Deonarine graduated New York Chiropractic College in 2002 with Magna Cum Laude honours. Since then he has focused his continuing education on sports specific therapies and the effectiveness of treating the athlete as a whole, rather than local symptoms, in order to correct dysfunction, enhance performance and avoid re-injury.
Following the Functional Integrated Therapy approach he utilizes a number of techniques such as Medical Acupuncture, Active Release Technique (provider since ’01), fascial abrasion, Kinesiotape, joint manipulation and custom orthotic casting to efficiently treat sports injuries of both the recreational and elite athlete.
In practice Kevin has worked with professional and amateur competitors in the sports of long distance running, triathlon, ice hockey, football, soccer, rowing, martial arts, baseball, rugby and ultimate frisbee. He is currently a consultant for the Maple Leafs AHL affiliate The Toronto Marlies hockey team. In addition, Kevin is an instructor with the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University.
