Dr. Fuad Moussa MD, MSc, FRCSC, FCCP grew up in Montreal and went to McGill University where he obtained a BSc in Anatomy, an MSc in Cell Biology and finally his MD. Following graduation in 1997, he went to the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Centre, where he completed a 5 year general surgery residency and a 2 year residency in cardiothoracic surgery where the focus was on beating heart surgery. Dr. Moussa came to Sunnybrook Hospital/University of Toronto in 2004. Currently, Dr. Moussa is a Cardiac Surgeon in the Division of Cardiac and Vascular Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto where he performs adult cardiac surgery and implants permanent pacemakers. He performs pleural space Thoracic Surgery cases and also takes call for Vascular Surgery. His areas of interest are “off-pump” coronary artery bypass, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, pacemaker lead extraction using laser and resident education. He Is certified by The Royal College of Surgeons, The American Board of Thoracic Surgery and The American Board of Surgery. He is a member of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, The American College of Chest Physicians, The American College of Surgeons and The Cardiothoracic Surgery Network.
